Our Story
Shayna and Ketul have known each other for roughly 6 years. As most of you know they love hiking, adventure, dancing, goofing around, photography, food, and most of all each other. Here are some of the highlights.

Love at first... Dance?
Shayna and Ketul first met in the Social Sciences parking structure at UC Irvine. They were both part of the ISC Culture Show Bhangra performance. When the choreographer started teaching the partner choreography they looked at each other and paired up without missing a beat!

First Date: "What are you doing?!"
Shayna and Ketul went on their first date under the guise of celebrating Shayna's Birthday. Ketul took Shayna to a sushi restaurant where he ordered edamame for Shayna to try (her first time eating edamame). With full confidence Shayna took an edamame bean and tried to eat the whole pod! After a couple of minutes Ketul noticed and yelled "What are you doing?!" Shayna then immediately spit the whole thing out onto her hands and threw it onto the table! Ketul explained (while laughing hysterically) that she wasn't supposed to eat the whole pod just the beans inside.

Making it Official
After a few months of dating (and at the end of the Zamana season) Ketul finally decided to officially ask Shayna out on May 6th 2012. Ketul took Shayna to Cafe Crepe in Santa Monica and while Shayna wasn't looking Ketul wrote "Will you be my Girlfriend?" on her napkin. Shayna didn't notice the napkin until Ketul said "Shayna you've got something on your face!". That's when their obsession with notes started!

Blood, Sweat, and Tears (The Proposal)
After 3 months of secret planning, Ketul was all set to propose to Shayna on July 30th 2016. All of their friends and family had set up a surprise for Shayna at "Little Treasure Cove" in Crystal Cove State Park. Ketul was hiking with Shayna along the beach up to that point. Before they reached that point, Shayna gave everyone the biggest surprise of all that day when she slipped and fell breaking off one of her toenails! After her toe was bandaged up and they were resting under the lifeguard's hut, Ketul made the pain go away by putting a ring on her finger. Later that evening everyone surprised Shayna with a celebration on a yacht in Long Beach! A day full of surprises that they'll never forget!

The Wedding
With Shayna and Ketul life is always an adventure! From their first camping trip (in a thunderstorm with a not so weather proof tent) to the surprise-filled proposal, they always find themselves in unexpected and memorable situations together. What new adventure will the wedding day bring?
